Description

Very impressive George III oak cupboard dresser base or sideboard probably from the Cheshire or Lancashire area of England c.1780. With a central back of two short and three long drawers of graduated depth, flanked with large cupboards to each side. A very handsome example of the form with four fluted column pilasters with moulded capitals across the front, arch door panels and a shaped and moulded plith, continued on the sides. Excellent timbers, note the particularly well figured and very broad plank making up most of the top. Some repairs to the top and period replacement handles. Otherwise very good condition and superb colour. Cleaned and restored in our workshops.
