Description:
A substantial 1 quart measure by James Grimes of London who worked 1851 - 1883. The measure is of ''bucket'' shape with a double scroll handle with fish tail terminal, standing on a flared foot. The measure is inscribed to the front with the ownership initials ''HJJ'' or similar. There is also the date July ''72 and the word Quart inscribed to the left of the handle. This is a very well made and heavy measure. There are no verification marks but there is a clear makers mark to the inside of the base.
Condition:
Excellent condition with a polished silver grey finish and some small traces of light oxide.
Repairs: There are no repairs that I could detect.
Size:

Base diameter: 4.375in (11.2cm).
