A superb late 19thc tapering iron bound, coopered decorator''s bucket or pail , made from oak and with a pine base....it has two raised staves to which a rope handle would have been attached. The underside of the base carries an interesting retailer''s stamp ''The Lincrusta, Central Decorating Co. Ltd., Oxford Street, London W.'' near the circus. ....The bucket is in excellent condition with no loose staves and a good colour & patina. English. C1860-80.''Lincrusta'' was (and I believe still is) a decorative embossed wallpaper invented originally in the the mid 19thc.....
