C18th French Louis Xvi Cherry Wood Commode

18th century
Description

Good late C18th French Louis XVI cherrywood commode; the striking original Sarrancolin marble top with a slender moulded edge above the three small drawers flanked by satinwood and ebony strung panels with a brass waist mould below; above the two full length drawers flanked by fluted pilasters. All the drawers being fully oak lined having ebonised banding around brass mouldings, and retaining their original brass bail handles. Standing on elegant turned tapering legs.
