An Anglo Indian Padouk wood Correspondence box C 1870.
The box is constructed of solid Padouk wood with canted Brass corners and brass banding . Fitted with campaign style Brass swan neck handles to the sides. The interior with central well surrounded by hinged lidded compartments to three sides. This type of box would likely have been bought by an Expat whilst on Work or military placement in the indian sub continent.
