Description

A wonderful and rare pair of mid Victorian period inlaid burr walnut pillar chests. Of fine construction in solid walnut with attractive burr walnut veneers onto a mahogany carcas. With canted corners and embellished with crisply cast ormolu mounts throughout. Each chest with an arrangement of 6 drawers, with inlaid detailing and shaped banding and fitted with original charming handles. The drawers are lockable (key supplied) and the locks stamped "VR". This pair of chests would perform a range of functions in the modern home, perhaps to accommodate a pair of lamps or busts. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops and now offered for sale in excellent condition, with a great colour and patina, ready to go straight into the home.
