Description

A neatly proportioned early 19th century antique oak coffer or blanket box with hinged sunken panel lid, revealing a papered interior with candle box to the left-hand side, two panel front with diamond carved detail, iron lock plate with decorative carved detailing to either side, raised on stile feet.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. General surface wear throughout including some age-related marks to the top and front (pictured), but overall, good. The hinges appear original. Some evidence of old historic wood worm in places – this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. Structurally solid and sound. The lock plate is purely decorative now and there is no working lock or key.
