Description

A large 19th century carved wood and gilded wall sconce.
The sconce is in the style of a hanging ribbon with a bow to the top, an eagle on a plinth with bow and arrows behind to the upper half and tassels at the bottom.
The sconce has a pair of curved arms decorated with acanthus and supporting a pair of candle holders.
The drip trays below the candle holders are decorated with hanging cut glass prisms.
The sconce is in good original condition with the gilding mellowing with age. (Circa 1890)
