Gatsby Jewellery Ltd has dated this piece to the 1930s.
The stone is secured by four double claws in a yellow gold collet which sits within a striking crossover band. Ten (five each side) old cut diamond are set in the platinum, spear-shaped shoulders on a 18k rose gold shank.

Accompanied by a sapphire report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating the sapphire shows no indications of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut sapphire with old cut diamonds.

Colour – The diamonds are I to J.
Clarity – The sapphire is SI. The diamonds are VS1 to SI1.
Carat – The sapphire is 3.04 carat with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.46 carat
Circa – 1935.
Size – N (UK) or 6.5 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is approximately 9.5 x 6.9mm and sits 6mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k rose and yellow gold. The diamonds are set in platinum. All tested.
