This is a lovely Japanese Lacquer Box depicting cranes carrying pine sprigs both are symbols of longevity. They are set against a deep red brown ground . From the estate of the the Von Mohl family this box reputably purchased by Ottmar Von Mohl (1846 -1922) while serving as German Ambassador to Japan. It is lined with hand made paper. Condition is good antique.
I have a passion for both Japanese and European antiques and am usually found prowling round antique fairs. I try to provide an interesting mixed bag of stock with an increasing emphasis on Japanese objects.

This item is antique. The date of manufacture has been declared as 19th Century.
