A Superb Quality First World War Travelling Silver 'Sweetheart' Frame

1900 - 1920
Description

A poignant sweetheart piece dating from the First World War. This is a travelling silver photo frame in hallmarked silver. The case is of rectangular form with a central concealed hinge. The interior has twin gilded apertures for two photographs, with removable glazed borders. To the top is an attaching loop for a fob chain or chatelaine. The exterior is plain and stylish and with a concealed clasp, is of wonderful gauge silver finished to a very high standard. A lovely collector's item, still usable today. Dimensions below.
