Description

A quality solid walnut bureau and matching chair. The top opens to reveal pigeon holes of various sizes and a drawer. The slides automatically come forward to support the top when open.

Below two deep drawers.

Attractive handles and inlay panels to the bureau and chair, made of ebony and various exotic woods. The walnut chair, with arms and a reupholstered cream seat. Marquetry banding to both the bureau and chair.

Made by the ‘Gaylade’ company. ‘Gaylade’ furniture by B.Cohen & Sons was first exhibited in 1926 at the London Furniture Exhibition and their high quality bedroom, dining and living room furniture was sold in upmarket department stores in the UK.
