Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
There is a single oak lined drawer to the front with turned wooden handles. A really attractive good quality piece and a small useful size; it would make a wonderful newspaper stand or magazine rack.

Solid and sturdy. There are a number of old holes filled with wax to the top and bottom corner joints at each side (see photos). Would have originally stood on casters.
