Exceptionally fine eight day striking library clock. The eight day movement striking the hours and half hours numbered 150852. Contained in a very unusuall ormolu cast case, with a leaf finial flanked by Garland swag decoration over a cast key moulded frieze, the dial with Arabic and Roman numerals, inscribed JOH. HARTMANN 48/49 UNTER DEN LINDEN, who would have been one of the finest retailers in pre-war Berlin The base with further leaf and key moulding on classic inspired scroll supports.
