An antique Victorian cast iron range fender or box fender. A highly decorative and good quality fender, in good original condition with pierced decoration. Good age and patina to the cast iron with a polished finish. These were designed to surround the hearth in a kitchen the solid flat top would be used to keep kettles and skillets warm.
