Gatsby Jewellery Ltd has dated this piece to the 1950s.
The stone is rubover set in platinum with navy blue enamelling at the north and south of the centre stone. Twenty-two high white and bright eight-cut diamonds are box and milgrain set around the sapphire with fine engraved detailing at the outside edge of the head of the ring. Dramatically split shoulders – set with two further diamonds each side – leads to a slim, double shank.

Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Madagascan in origin.
Cut – Oval cut sapphires and eight-cut diamonds.

Colour – The diamonds are E to F.
Clarity – The sapphire is loupe clean. The diamonds are VS2 to SI2.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 3.37 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.52 carat.
Circa – 1955.

Size – Q (UK) or 8 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 11.1 x 6.82mm. The ring is 22.7 x 13.8mm and sits 6.7 from the finger.
Metal – Platinum. Tested.
