An Unusually Small Dresser Base Circa 1700.

Description

An unusually small English low open dresser base Circa 1700 in date.

The dresser is constructed from oak and consists of a two plank top, with a heavy molding above and below the drawers. The two drawers having a plain molded boarder with fielded paneled fronts with round brass escutcheons and brass drop handles, the interiors having an old felt lining. Below are three finely turned legs with two plain stiles at the back.

There has been some old restorations and there are some losses to the moldings below the top , commensurate with age.

Overall the dresser is in excellent condition and has a superb patina.

This is the perfect period piece for a small cottage or an apartment.
