Description

A late Victorian pine storage trunk dating to c1900 or a little earlier. The trunk may originally have had a tray inside and it has been adapted to hold two sliding upper trays, with two lidded compartments below. The trays are tiered, and one slides over the other to access the lower part of the trunk. Below, the front lidded compartment is full width, the back lidded compartment is half width, the other half width is open. The lids have recessed lifting handles. The interior provides a variety of flexible storage areas, useful for toys, tools, valuables etc. The trunk is well built with original honey patina, side carry handles, and a good lock (no key). An antique piece for modern life. Quite heavy due to inner trays.
