Description

A wonderful and very handsome large scale pocket three drawer telescope, clad in shiny Mahogany and the solid brass having been professionally re-polished to gleam.

Dating to around 1860. this example is lucky enough to have been signed, engraved " Rothwell Manchester "; always a highly sought-after bonus when signed like this one.

The lens has a brass cover and the eye piece has a little integrated shutter to protect the eye hole.

In fine working condition the telescope measures 7 3/4" when fully closed and extends to 21 3/4".
