Description

A Welsh oak longcase clock with a swan neck hood pediment. Marquetry inlays to the case of good colour and patination. Brass capped hood columns. Parquetry star inlays as hood paterae. An attractive arched painted dial with gilt and floral corners. Date and seconds indicators. An 8-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell.

Thomas Evans of Newcastle Emlyn is recorded in Peates' 'Clock and Watchmakers in Wales' book as working from 1801-1862.
