Four very pleasant and atmospheric original watercolours painted in the mid 19th Century by Charles Frederick Buckley. All signed in the corners.
The smallest one is set in Scotland beside a loch and croft, with cattle drovers and cattle.
One depicts travellers passing through a gorge, beside rapids, probably in Switzerland.
One depicts travellers and goatherders looking across to a far away white village in a deep valley.
The last one depicts a man and his dog in a snowy landscape beside a frozen lake.
Charles Frederick Buckley was a member of an artistic family originating from Cork in Ireland. He painted numerous landscapes of British and European views with local figures - a skilled observationist. These were probably painted on a grand tour of Europe
All modern frames and glazed.
