Antique Victorian Satin Wood Writing Table by Heal & Son

Description

A beautiful and rare antique Victorian writing table, beautifully made from Satin wood and with an inset leather top. This dates from around the 1860-80 period, it was made in London by Heal & Son.

It has an unusual and lovely design, with a finely turned and stretchered base. The top has curved edges and two hidden drawers, with the makers mark stamped inside. This is also nicely finished on the back, so can be used as a free standing item.

We have had this desk recently French polished, and the top has been re-leathered, the condition is excellent for its age.

Depth – 22 inches , 56 cm

Height – 29 inches , 74 cm

Knee height – 25 inches , 64 cm
