Description

Antique George III mahogany bureau with nice slim proportions, in excellent condition & of high quality.

The bureau flap is cross banded & there are four drawers graduated in depth, with original brass handles & fine dovetails. The three bottom drawers have locks. The slope pulls down & is supported by manual loafers. Inside, are six compartments, five small drawers & a tooled leather writing surface.

This bureau is solid mahogany, with a strong wood grain & sits on bold bracket feet. I would date it to around the 1790’s period.
