Child's Hinged Clogs Pattens Over Shoes Leather Wood Antique

Description

A rare pair of children's hinged clogs or over shoes English, circa 1825

The leather hinge is set at the ball of the foot much increasing comfort and stability.

The hinge is fixed with brass plates and screw to enable easy replacement when worn over time.

Black leather uppers secured with metal strips and nails.

Sole and heel fitted with thick hide using raised head iron nails for added grip.

Ankle straps with iron buckles to adjust length and metal stud plates probably for quick release straps.

Stamped number on each 465

Length 5,3/8" or 137mm gross weight 187 grams.

Leather ankle straps only part present otherwise all in excellent sound condition with little wear.
