This is a very large antique Heriz carpet. A Persian, room-sized rug or covering, dating to the Edwardian period of the early 20th century, circa 1910.

Of truly impressive size and beautiful hand-woven appeal

Displaying a desirable aged patina with minimal underfoot wear present - tassels to one end

The Heriz style crafted in beautiful crimson, deep blue and mellow cream hues

Large central medallion with motif to each corner a hallmark of this region

The ground in warm, inviting cream around which tramline borders and scrolled patterns lay

Large central medallion with dark blue petals and smaller crimson and light blue flowers

Double border patterns, in crimson and dark blue respectively and decorated with foliate motif

Striking triangular corners with a smaller repeat of the central medallion
