Description

Extraordinary late 19th.c. English Art Nouveau wrought iron fire screen c.1890. Asymmetrical wrought iron frame with lovely scrolling terminals and applied detail of plant forms with polished copper elements. Crescent shaped mirror plate at the centre with a bevelled edge and polished repoussé copper frame. Remarkable hand painted decoration of a bird, leaves and flowers and the crescent moon behind a spider’s web. Excellent original condition.
