Antique Silver Cased Christening Set 1918

1900 - 1920
Description

A Cased Set of matching SOLID SILVER BOWL & SPOON made by Josiah Williams & Co in 1918 and retailed by Mackay & Chisholm of Princes St. Edinburgh.

This lovely set comes in the original red leather covered case with blue velvet and silk lining and with cut-outs to hold the superb Silver Bowl and Spoon.

The bowl stands on a raised base and has a beautiful applied rope twist border with fan decorations and the spoon has a matching fan decoration on the handle.

In superb condition with no added engravings, monograms or initials this excellent set would make a fabulous Christening Gift or would enhance any collection.

Condition:

Used / Excellent

There is no damage and no repairs.

The Case shows some signs of wear – nothing much but mentioned for accuracy.

Weight – 128gm / 4.1ozt

Spoon: 5.5” (140mm)
