Stubbs & Millar, Dannevirke pocket watch & chain.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some scratching and a knock to the edge.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is nickel and overall is in good condition, just a slight indentation to the hinged case back.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed with the retailer’s name Stubbs & Millar, Dannevirke, a New Zealand jeweller and watch maker whose strap line was ‘The shop for presents’. The dial has a very faint hairline crack between the top of the sub seconds dial and the centre but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch comes on a vintage nickel chain which measures 18cm including the T bar and clasp.

The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
