Georgian Silver Snuff Box by Thomas & William Simpson, Birmingham 1824

Description

This beautiful George IV silver snuff box was made by Thomas & William Simpson and is dated Birmingham 1824. Of conventional rectangular form, both front and back with an engine-turned background. The hinged cover with a raised foliate border. The sides with reeded decorations.

Exquisite flush hinge.

Vacant cartouche to the front.

Pale gilt interior.

Hallmarks:

T&WS for Thomas & William Simpson

Duty Mark.

Birmingham Assay Mark.

Date letter "A" for 1824.

Condition:

Very good.

Good hinge .

Interior gilding in original condition.

Shuts nicely.

Dimensions:
