Art Nouveau plaque bronze signed Daniel Dupuis Belle Epoque circa 1890 Stunning Very good antique patina Impressive with only minor signs of age and wear Daniel Dupuis 1849-1899 Jean-Baptiste-Daniel Dupuis is the son of the painter Étienne-Denis Dupuis and the brother of Pierre Dupuis, also a painter. His father introduced him to the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1865, where he was a pupil of Jules Cavelier. He obtained the second prize of Rome in engraving of medals and fine stone in 1868. At the same time, he was admitted as a drawing teacher for the schools of the city of Paris. In 1872, the day after the Franco-Prussian war, he won the first Grand Prix de Rome He won first prize in the competitions opened by the city of Paris for the medal of the French Republic in 1879.
