Late Victorian Inlaid Dome Topped Mahogany Jewellery Box

A splendid, large late Victorian Mahogany jewellery box of very unusual form with serpentine sides and front, and a domed top, the box has a rear hinged lid with key and working lock and a draw at the front, inlaid on the top with inlaid banding on front of the drawer and a large shield escutcheon centred with the letter C; inside the drawer are two secret compartments for hiding coins. This beautiful box is in excellent overall condition and measures 14 inches in length.
