Ancient Burmese Stone Carving c. 13th / 14th century
This is a excellent ancient carving in sandstone from Myanmar (Burma) from the 13th / 14th century.
The carving depicts 2 people (royals / monks) sitting back to back on a throne/seat on a square plinth, both having their hands in praying position,
both figures have shaved heads but one of the figures has a kind of jewel/crown on the front of it''s head.
The well carved sandstone has been painted in a brownish colour at the time.
The carving has no restorations or cracks only some minor blemishes due to its age.
Dimensions: Height approx. 12cm - Width approx. 8cm - Depth approx. 6cm.
