Antique silver stem winding pocket watch 1919.

The watch has a nicely jewelled Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 48.7mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for London (import mark), 1919 with an importer’s mark for George Stockwell. From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items, which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.

The case has some minor marking and some gentle unevenness to the case back. The engine turned detail is still nice and crisp and there is a central vacant cartouche.

The acrylic watch lens is in good condition.

The white enamel dial has some faint hairline cracks although not over noticeable.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
