Antique Vesta case/Go to bed in the form of a Pig, Circa 1880 this is a wonderful example of a Victorian novelty "Go To Bed" Kept by the side of of the bed is used buy withdrawing a match from the case closing the head striking the match on the underbelly of the pig and placing the match in the Snout of the Pig which will provide sufficient light for a short period of time often go to bed matched would be slightly waxed to lengthen the time the match could burn for, Often these items are described as Vesta cases which they can be used for as well but it is the hole in the snout which makes it a go to bed and not technically a Vesta case
