It is a delightful design with a carved ivory handle and hallmarked silver terminal. The holder is an early example and was made and retailed in Paris 1845 -55. The terminal has a screw mechanism for tightening on the bone. A handsome and rare item with a practical use. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent with no dents or splits. There is an old hairline to the ivory handle, commensurate with age and use.
Hallmarks :- French fineness mark for 800/1000 and maker's mark.
Date :- Paris 1845-55.
