~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
A huge original antique French Baroque clock set. Beautifully and substantially modelled, and finished with a lovely original gild. It is of architectural form with a swans neck pediment surmounted by an urn with an final of fruit.

Very unusually the case is signed by the maker to the cartouche between the swans neck pediment. To the corners are reeded columns and the base is of stepped serpentine form, also delicately pieced to lighten the design. Candelabra are conforming in style with stepped serpentine bases, urns and 4 branches. They are complete with original snuffers that are as finials when not in use, these are designed as fruit to match the clock. The dial is also gilt bronze with 12 individual enamel cartouches and blued steel hands. The rear door is glazed to allow the movement to be seen.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock running and striking, please ask and we will send you a link.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage. The candelabra are slightly distorted. The glass has a small chip to the inside edge.

Clockmakers mark on the movement backplate and on the case in a cartouche between the swans neck pediment.
