Description

An antique 19th century wooden travel trunk with metal banding, iron drop handles to either side along with the initials C.K., the name Charles Kingston is carved into the top. The interior has been papered and the inside of the lid has remnants of a print of ‘Vista da Cidade do Porto’ by Sousa Vasconcelos c.1850’. Believed to have belonged Australian politician Charles Kingston.

Charles Cameron Kingston PC was an Australian politician. From 1893 to 1899 he was a radical liberal Premier of South Australia.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. General surface wear to the wood and metal banding. The interior is tired with many rips and tears to the paper. Structurally sound.
