Gents 9ct gold Ernest Borel watch with box and papers.

The watch has a Swiss 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the name Ernest Borel.

Ernest Borel's roots were established in 1856 in Neuchâtel by Jules Borel and Paul Courvoisier. In 1898, Jules Borel's son Ernest took over the company and re-named it Ernest Borel. The company traded very successfully, focusing on the export market, and they won several trade awards for time keeping and accuracy. By the late 1950s, when this particular watch was produced, Ernest Borel was a well respected company supplying watches across the five continents.

The watch we have here measures 33.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are Swiss hallmarks together with British hallmarks for Glasgow 1958 and the Ernest Borel name. The case is in lovely condition.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in super condition with original hands and a subsidiary seconds dial.

The watch comes with its original paperwork and presentation box which is tatty but still good to have.
