A Superb Edwardian Long Necked Silver Decanter.

Description

A superb Edwardian long necked silver decanter made by William Hutton and sons of Birmingham in 1904-1905.

Decanters of this slender design are quite rare to survive and this example is in excellent condition for its age.

The decanter has a finely engraved baluster type body and decorated with foliate designs, the base having a circular flange foot with a starburst decoration beneath.

The silver collar having fret work decorations with a finely folded quatrefoil shaped spout, made for easy pouring, with a cut glass stopper.
