Description
A Stunning and Rare Welsh Table Regulator by J.P Jones of Aberystwyth, The beautifully made mahogany case is of the highest of standards of its day having been carefully selected for its quality of veneer. The finely carved vine symmetrically weaving its way around the round topped case is exquisite. This vine complimented by a carved floral swag suspended from the dial. The large clear silvered dial engraved with the maker’s name J.P Jones Aberystwyth. This table version of the tall round topped English regulators has a most wonderful movement with precision deadbeat escapement, five pillars and a rack striking the hour on a polished bell. The mock mercury pendulum can clearly be seen through the glazed front and rear door. A rare opportunity to acquire a precision Welsh Regulator by this well respected family of clockmakers.
