~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
A superb and substantial gilt bronze clock.
It is of balloon shape, formed with bold scrolls, curves and acanthus. Below the dial is a collection of musical trophies, a lute, pipes and a book of music.

The front and sides have sound frets backed with red velvet. To the top is a bold Rococo foliate finial and the clock sits on an integral base. The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with its original finely fretted brass hands.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a sonorous gong. Click the video to hear the gong and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in very good condition, just three small chips at the 5, 25 and 45 minute positions.

Complete with pendulum and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
