A Victorian Brass Capped Trunk

Perfect as a COFFEE TABLE or for a child''s toys a Victorian steamer trunk.
 
90 cm wide 61 deep and 50 cm high.
 
Heavy brass corner caps and studs.
 
A timber carcass ,canvas covered and tin lined this is a substantial well made trunk used for a long sea voyage to India. The original interior lining is intact and the lid was made to close air tight.
 
Iron front , back and top side edge banding and large brass studs. Original lock (no key). Heavy iron side lifting handles.
 
Initials K W top and sides with inscription'' Mrs Kilby'' on the lid. Old shipping label ..Southampton to Calcutta.
