The hinged lid opening to reveal a drilled gilt grille.
The original sponge still in place.

They were produced in small family businesses and factories throughout Birmingham. They made a range of items including patch boxes, nutmeg graters, buckles, caddy spoons, vinaigrettes, snuff boxes and babies rattles.

Date letter "m" for 1810.
Birmingham Assay mark.
Lion Passant.
Duty mark.
Condition:
Good.
Good hinge on both vinaigrette and grille.
Good clear hallmarks.
Tiny split on side of hinged cover, barely noticeable, mentioned for accuracy.
