This is an antique games table. An English, Rosewood over mahogany chess board, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.

Displays a desirable aged patina

Circular Rosewood top offers fine grain interest and rich caramel hues

Mahogany support and legs in dark russet tones

Beautiful inlaid chess board to the broad top

Striking Rosewood and contrasting bleached burr walnut squares

The square board measuring 30.5cm

Raised upon a turned baluster column

Further decorated with broad leaf carvings and acanthus bulb
