A Fine 18th Century Style Dresser Base.

Description

A fine 18th century style dresser base constructed in the 19th century from oak and probably made in Lancashire.

There are three elegant cabriole legs at the front with two straight stiles at the back.

The dresser base consists of three front drawers with brass escutcheons and swan neck handles. Below the drawers is a large shaped silhouette frieze and above them is a heavy molding supporting the outer edge of the plank top.

The dresser has has some minor restorations, commensurate with age, but has a wonderful deep and rich patina and is in excellent condition.
