Description

A fabulous and rarely found oval domed Jewelry / sewing / desk box made from highly decorative burl Walnut with Tulipwood cross-banding.

The top is inlaid with a highly decorative Tunbridge Ware decoration with a central Mother of Pear lozenge, this is complimented with a similar inlay to the front surrounding the escutcheon, which houses the working tasselled key.

The lid interior retains it's original quilted lining and the bottom re-lined with a hand-made marbled paper.

A wonderful and highly sought-after gem in excellent condition. Measuring 11" x 8" x 4 1/2".
