Antique Victorian Solid Silver Tankard Baluster Shaped - Henry William Curry 1870

Description

We are delighted to offer this Victorian solid silver tankard made by Henry William Curry in London, 1870.

The exterior features a plain mirror-like finish with a traditional baluster form.

The handle is very sturdy with a chased Acanthus thumbpiece on the top.

The base of the tankard is supported with a widened foot with a beaded design around the border.

The interior remains in good condition, no gilding is present, however, the colour reflection makes the interior appear slightly yellowish/gilt due to the shadows etc.

There are no leaks in this cup and thus liquids can be held within - the capacity is just shy of 1 pint.

Full set of English hallmarks are marked on the side of the cup.
