A Fabulous William IV Silver & Glass Butter Dish

Description

An outstanding silver and glass butter dish from King William IV's reign. This interesting piece has a frosted and cut glass body with a shaped border. The lid is scalloped and ribbed and there is a fully cast, seated cow finial. To the base is a matching silver underplate with corresponding hallmarks and this silver is of excellent gauge throughout. This superior piece also has the distinction of being by one of the great names in 19th Century silver, Joseph & John Angell. A rare and usable item of silver and glass tableware. Dimensions below.

Diameter of bowl rim :- 13.7 cms.
