Description

A stunning antique settee, finely carved from solid mahogany or possible walnut. This dates from around the 1840-60’s period, and is a most impressive work of art.

The profuse carvings depict floral motifs, lions heads, angels, pierced Moorish style arches with barley twist columns, beautifully turned finials and many other intricate patterns. The details are exquisite, the carvings even run down the sides, over the arms and across the legs. Everything about this is of amazing quality.

The condition is excellent for its age, we have recently had this French polished. The seat has also been newly upholstered in our lovely cream natural cotton fabric.
