Description

Delightful Georgian mahogany cellarette or wine cooler c.1800. Arched lid over a square cellarette with space for 9 large bottles, fitted with the original mahogany dividers. With brass handles to the sides and raised on short tapering square legs. Strikingly simple design with very little in the way of applied decoration (note the inlaid stringing to the edges and reeded base moulding) allowing attention to focus on the lovely grain of the timber. Some minor wear to the mouldings and a replacement grip to one handle. Otherwise very good condition with a working lock and key. Particularly good colour and patina, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
